LUCIO FONTANA / ANTONY GORMLEY, 2022

During the 59th Venice Biennale, Associazione Arte Continua in collaboration with B17, FAI - Fondo per l'Ambiente Italiano, Fondazione Lucio Fontana and GALLERIA CONTINUA presents Lucio Fontana / Antony Gormley, an exhibition bringing together for the first time two great Masters of sculpture, through a presentation of sculpture, graphic works and works on paper. The exhibition addresses the key themes of space, light and absence found in the work of both sculptors. On display will be sculpture by both artists, alongside a selection of drawings made by Fontana between 1946 and 1968 and a series of drawings, workbooks and models that showcase many aspects of Gormley's research. Curated by Luca Massimo Barbero, one of the leading scholars of Fontana, the exhibition is on display at the historic Negozio Olivetti in Venice, an architecturally renowned space centrally located at Piazza San Marco and designed by Carlo Scarpa.

A beautifully designed little exhibition catalogue, published by Marsilio Editori, is available during the exhibition, in Italian and English editions. With images of all the drawings and sculptures on show, and an essay by Luca Massimo Barbero.
