ALEJANDRO CAMPINS 'Malpaís'

On 29 May, Malpaís opens at the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes in Havana — an exhibition in which the Painted Desert of Arizona becomes a threshold: a real territory that already contains abstraction within itself, its geological strata of colour exposing millions of years at once. Landscape here is no longer simply a place but a double image.
