The exhibition introduces unique works by artists from West and Central Africa: Saka Acquaye, Anapa, Sokari Douglas Camp, Moustapha Dimé, El Anatsui, Ablade Glover, Abdoulaye Konaté, Issa Samb, Pascale Marthine Tayou. These works have been acquired by the museum following ‘An Inside Story: African Art of Our Time, the exhibition held in 1995’. Setagaya Art Museum is set on the edge of spacious Kinuta Park in Tokyo. Since opening (1986), it conducted extensive research on the art of the past and present ranging exhibition from the prehistoric to the most contemporary. Museum programs provides the broadest possible range of opportunities for encountering art in its various forms, including films, exhibitions, musical concerts and workshops for people who want to become more actively involved with the arts.
