ARCANGELO SASSOLINO 'in the end, the beginning'

Arcangelo Sassolino makes his Australian solo debut at Mona from 7 June 2025 to 6 April 2026, presenting in the end, the beginning during Dark Mofo. In the title work, one of the museum’s subterranean galleries will be showered with molten steel heated to 1500 °C, its fiery droplets cascading like sparks in the dark—a reimagining of Diplomazija astuta, created for the Malta Pavilion at the 2022 Venice Biennale to echo Caravaggio’s chiaroscuro in The Beheading of Saint John the Baptist.
