Carlos Garaicoa regularly reflects on the city, its architecture and latent dreams based on the past to make us reflect on the present and the future.
Broken Horizon Line narrates the relationship between nature and urban space based on those felled trees characteristic of parks and streets in many cities (in this case very common in Madrid), with their grids that imprison them, and often full of cigarette butts that surround and turn them into large urban ashtrays.
The project will be accompanied by a book edited by Didac that will collect some of the artist’s interests on topics such as the garden, or the reflections on the tension between urban space and nature, very recurrent in his work.
