JR 'Le Cronache di Napoli'

JR presents the eighth and most personal chapter of his acclaimed Chronicles series with 'Le Cronache di Napoli', a monumental black-and-white collage that wraps the Gothic facade of Naples’ Duomo in the faces of its people. Over a week in September 2024, JR photographed 606 Neapolitans, from pizzaioli and firefighters to nonne, poets and the mayor himself, against a green screen in seven neighborhoods. Each portrait, captured in identical light and posed by its subject, weaves a living tapestry of identity, resilience and the city’s vibrant, unfiltered spirit.
