LEILA ALAOUI 'Made in India'

The title of the show, ‘Made in India’, is an exclusive photographic series by Leila Alaoui (1982-2016), shot in July 2014 in Chennai, formerly Madras, India. In this project, the artist photographed a community of women working in the production of clothing for the international market. In keeping with her artistic practice devoted to identity, she sought above all to immerse herself in the daily lives of these women workers in order to shed light on their stories, which are often invisible behind the “Made in India” label on clothing.
