In January 2026, the H+ Art Museum, designed by internationally renowned architect Tadao Ando, opened in Suzhou’s Gusu District, marking its official inauguration with a major opening exhibition. As one of Ando’s key museum projects in China exploring the relationship between nature and architecture, the museum embodies his concept of a “three-dimensional garden with a circulatory, wandering experience,” a design philosophy that resonates deeply with the cultural spirit of classical Jiangnan gardens.

Coinciding with the museum’s opening, H+ Art Museum presents its inaugural exhibition, Roaming the Cosmos of the Heart-Infinite, co-curated by distinguished curator Zhang Zikang and H+ Art Museum. The exhibition brings together 36 works (and groups of works) by 34 important artists from China and abroad.

Structured around three interconnected narrative sections — “Between Worlds,” “Echoes of the Deep,” and “Roaming in Soft Light” — the exhibition seeks to construct an artistic constellation that transcends cultural and geographical boundaries. It explores the boundless possibilities of the individual spirit as it navigates the complexities of contemporary life within a globalized context. Through the juxtaposition and dialogue of these significant works, the exhibition offers audiences a wide-angle lens through which to reflect on the diverse and multifaceted landscape of contemporary art.
