Carlos Garaicoa

The Roots of the World is an installation that reveals a contained violence and condenses the tension between construction-destruction dualism, both being stages of a renovation of the epistemological process intrinsic to any crucial moment in history. Garaicoa proposes an image that invites to think in the dynamics of opposites that have marked the structure of the ways of existing in society. How alien is violence to progress and to ostensive success? And yet, the work seems to utter a dystopian comment on violence and power games being the roots of any development in modern civilization.
