José Yaque was born in 1985 in Manzanillo (Cuba), a city which has seen the development of a fantastic generation of young Cuban creators. At present, he lives and works in Havana. Flavio Garciandía, born in 1954, was and remains a key figure on the Cuban art scene, working throughout the 1970s and 1980s, in 1984 he was a co-founder of the Havana Biennial.
