Pascale Marthine Tayou’s first solo exhibition in a Spanish art gallery presents recent works of the artist as well as works related in situ, like an immersive installation that embodies the work of an artist who defines himself as an explorer. Bossa Bossa means victory and is a cry of celebration from African migrants who cross over into Europe; this exhibition explores the purpose of human ambition, human movement and the cause of conquests.

The inauguration of the exhibition will be preceded by a conversation with Uli Sigg, Ai Weiwei and Marcella Beccaria in the theatre of the castle. Moderated by Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev.

This exhibition is developed in close contact with the collector Uli Sigg (Lucerna, 1946) and documents some of the prestigious collection’s distinctive characters through a choice of thematic and monographic rooms. Sun Yuan & Peng Yu will present the work One or All (Ash column) 2007 from the M+ Sigg Collection, donation by Uli Sigg, former Swiss ambassador in China and collector, to the M+ Museum in Hong Kong.
