With a new series of large works, Serse approaches the seemingly insurmountable task of recognizably representing an element that by its nature is transient and dynamic, constantly changing form, reflection and direction.

Serse accomplishes this research through the concrete materiality of the graphite, a medium that, to use the artist’s words, enables him to emphasize the tautological gesture of drawing and to produce a work that does not lie about its nature as pure drawing.
