This exhibition focuses on our ability to adapt to present conditions as well as on the continuous needs of man to be able to rethink desirable and necessary materials that are being depleted. Reinvention as a principle of adaptation is becoming inevitable, a concept that is applicable to the many animalier prints that imitate and reinvent animal hide that can’t be used anymore. Designing costumes for animals made with a local, contemporary material, leather, Kadyrova brings the balance of reasonableness, through the principle of the absurd, to breaking point by exchanging the roles of prey and predator in the animal chain, while exploring desire, luxury and fashion and the concept of dress.
