The NGV TRIENNIAL welcomes the project 'Homily to Country' 2020 by JR, that directs international focus onto the ecological deterioration of the Darling River system, as well as “Last words of John Brown (red version)" 2018 by Nari Ward, a work from the artist’s series of textual installations made of shoe laces that studies how art and activism cross over.

In collaboration with Villa Romana, Civitella Ranieri and Galleria Continua the exhibition presents works by Amelia Umuhire, M’Barek Bouhchichi, Sasha Huber, Nari Ward, Adji Dieye and Delio Jasse as part of Florence’s Black History Month whose theme this year, Obbligato, looks at social, moral and communal obligations that draw upon one of the founding principles of cosmopolitanism; moral obligation towards all humans.
